Bed Bug Stains
Heavier stains will need to be pre treated with an enzyme based stain remover and or a peroxide ammonia mixture.
Bed bug stains. One of the main signs of bed bugs is rust colored or brownish reddish stains. Marks caused by bed bug excrement won t rub off of your mattress or sheets. Cold water washing might do the trick for fresh light stains.
These can remain long after the insects have been eliminated. Reddish stains on your mattress from bugs that have been crushed small pale yellow eggs egg shells and yellowish skins that young bedbugs shed once you find a bedbug put it in a sealed jar. Crumpled bed bugs cause reddish or rusty stains or tints like spots on mattresses or bed sheets.
Removing bed bug stains from bedding. You will see these in corners of your mattresses on the bed s wooden frames on your upholstered furniture curtains fabric couches and futons carpets and even on the walls. In most cases blood stains occasioned by a bed bug bite are noticeable on brighter colored pillowcases and bedsheets.
The stains are caused by a bed bug crush. The stains are protein based since they are essentially made of blood and require a more aggressive removal approach than many other types of stains. Bed bug faecal stains if the stains you are seeing on your bed aren t rust colored but more like dark brown or black in appearance it could still be bed bugs.
The dark splotches on your mattress bedspread and pillows come from the feces of bed bugs that have been feeding on you during the night. You may be seeing their droppings which is a good sign you may have a bed bug problem. But these signs of an infestation won t always be found on bedding because bed bugs are highly mobile and move fast.
